With Eduardo Aguirre, Diego González and Joshua Mancha already incorporated, Santos Laguna completed this Wednesday the first phase of work as part of the pre-season ahead of the 2026 Apertura Tournament. The green-white team carried out its third and last day of physical and medical tests, so from this Thursday they will start working on the pitch, where they will already begin to receive the instructions from the technical staff led by Renato Paiva. Santos has scheduled to work in the TSM facilities and will travel on June 19 to Baltimore, Maryland, where they will continue their preparation until June 30, using the Coppermine facilities. The team has in mind what will be the 2026 Apertura Tournament and the 2026 Leagues Cup, two competitions where they seek to show a different face to the one they have had in recent years, so the team focuses on its preparation while the board works on the moves to strengthen the squad. For now, this Wednesday the team closed the first phase of work in which the green-white squad carried out medical, physical and functional evaluations, with the objective of establishing monitoring parameters and optimizing the planning of workloads for the next weeks. The evaluations included mobility, stability, muscle activation and body composition tests, as well as specialized tests carried out in the SANTOS LAB physiology laboratory, located inside the Applied Sciences to Sports area in Territorio Santos Modelo, and scheduled clinical checks at the Spanish Sanatorium. It will be from this Thursday when the team led by Renato Paiva will start training on the pitch in TSM. The work program includes double sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays, as well as a morning practice on Fridays. After carrying out this first phase of work in TSM, the team will continue their preparation in Baltimore, Maryland, where they will hold a concentration during the last two weeks of June. As for movements, in addition to the upcoming arrival of Argentine defender Franco Pardo.
